You can fly proud with NAGE EMS! Employees form NAGE EMS locals to gain legal protections and rights, to have a voice and a seat at the table of power, as well as to improve their lives. NAGE EMS locals are simply an organized association of employees formed to protect and further their rights and interests and to advocate on behalf of employees. NAGE EMS members gain rights and privileges granted to union represented employees and not granted to non-union employees under the law.

NAGE EMS local labor unions are found at various employers and worksites, and are supported by the national resources of NAGE. Such resources includes professional attorneys, EMS experienced contract negotiators, EMS experienced labor representatives, lobbyists, support staff, and industry specific and issue oriented specialists.

nageLogoNAGE consists of more than 43,000 members in a variety of career professions. NAGE is made up of public and private workers—federal, state, county, and municipal employees—police officers, firefighters, correctional officers, office workers, and professional workers, and both in and out of hospital health care workers— registered nurses, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians. We always seek a stronger union to build power for ourselves and to protect the people we serve. To deliver the best possible services to locals and members, NAGE is divided up into industry specific divisions and locals. NAGE EMS represents EMS Professionals working for private employers.

NAGE is also affiliated with Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and is also known as NAGE/SEIU Local 5000. SEIU-logoWith 2.0 million members, SEIU is one of the largest labor union in the world. NAGE President David Holway serves on the SEIU Executive Board of Directors and in several influential positions within SEIU. NAGE maintains complete autonomy in its own affairs but has partnered with SEIU for strength. SEIU is very supportive of NAGE and our specific way of representing members. In fact, in many cases, other unions try to imitate NAGE and our proven successful representation system.
